About Tall Boneset

Tall Boneset is a stately and reliable native perennial that provides a massive burst of late-season color and vital support for pollinators. Growing 3 to 6 feet tall, this robust plant features hairy stems and grayish-green, lance-shaped leaves that add a soft, muted texture to the garden. In late summer and early autumn, it is topped with large, flat-topped clusters of fuzzy white flowers that are a magnet for countless bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Native to prairies, open woodlands, and limestone glades across the eastern and central United States, Tall Boneset is incredibly adaptable and easy to grow. It thrives in full to partial sun and is remarkably drought-tolerant once established, thanks to its deep root system. Unlike some other Eupatorium species, it maintains a strong, upright presence throughout the season. It is a fantastic choice for the back of a perennial border, a meadow restoration, or a pollinator-focused landscape where a high-impact, low-maintenance plant is needed for late-season ecological value.
